The founders of Fair Way Transitioning coupled with Transition Re - Entry program and People Cared About People began a creative endeavor in May 2017 to help the homeless by facilitating and assisting in their navigation of finding housing and employment. Moreover, we looked at the recidivism rates of property offenders, drug offenders, and violent crime offenders within the criminal justice concern, and decided to make the effort to assist those with their transitioning back into the mainstream society. We believe through the facilitation of group therapy that if offered better information then one can make better choices. Better choices lead to a better chance of success. We have found that in many cases with our clients.
Fairway transitioning program, consisting of a supporting environment intending to assist homeless clients in their recovery from homelessness, chemical dependency and those in need of a psycho therapeutic process. The program is designed to help those seeking to better their live and social status within the mainstream of society. Also, those seeking to recovery to develop a lifestyle that encourages sobriety and personal growth. The program consists of group therapy, education, referral to therapy, 12 step program for the release of addiction and individual counseling. Each participant experienced with the treatment program is used to further the therapeutic process in recovery, from homelessness, from drugs, and dereliction.
We make a collective effort to assist our clients which are homeless or transitioning from an institution in having a life changing experience. A life that is enriched, enhanced, and empowered. We offer support in the way of referrals to supportive housing agencies and transitional housing with the hope of gaining permanent housing after processing through 18 months. Depending on assessment needs which may involve a 12 step substance abuse program coupled with job readiness classes, group therapy and individual therapy. Some will be referred to Sound Mental Health and the (G.O.T.S. ) program That Is Getting People Off The Streets. We feed the homeless a hot home cooked meal every Friday at 2pm at 323 25th ave s, in the Gideon Mathews Apartment Community Room.
